HISTORY
Zarsky Lumber first opened for business in 1928 in Woodsboro, Texas by brothers Frank & Charlie Zarsky. In 1929, just as the Greta Oil Field Discovery was made in Refugio County, the Refugio store was opened.

Door ShopZarsky furnished oil-field timbers and drilling mud to companies drilling in the field. The Rio Grande City store was opened in 1933, as oil companies moved into the Rio Grande Valley area along the border of Mexico.

The next store to open was in Victoria in 1935. The Corpus Christi and McAllen stores followed in 1937. The company now has a total of 10 stores, with additional locations in Wharton (1982); Harlingen (1994); Los Fresnos (1996); Kingsville (1995) and Laredo (1999). The Woodsboro store was closed in 1985. The year 1976 saw the passing of both Frank & Charlie Zarsky.

Since that time, John Breaker (CEO) and Dan Coleman (President) have run Zarsky Lumber Company. Under their leadership, Zarsky Lumber has made the transition to being a major player in the lumber & building material industry.
